I thought today would involve one more trip to some far corner of another borough, but luck intervened and I get to stay home and re-center myself. The past few days have been MADNESS, of the best kind. I have too many brown shoes and not enough black shoes, it turns out.
Now that I've resolved to go biking this weekend to some places I want to go, the weather has dropped from 73F earlier this week to 34F right now and a low of 16F tomorrow. Very, very good dinner with friend S. tonight. Friend S. is the type of friend where we always wind up chatting for four straight hours and then suddenly realize the restaurant is closing up around us and we could keep going for hours more. I woke up at 9:45 today (not normal but becoming so); I don't usually need 9-10 hours of sleep. My next-door neighbor (prone to yelling) has been blasting pounding, aggressive music since 10:15. Thing I'm very pleased with: My therapist now has me setting weekly realistic goals for myself, rather than simply letting me fall apart all over her couch for an hour. It all fell out of me as soon as the hour hit.
I'm sort of overidentifying with Maru and red bag right now. But I set up my out-of-office at work and turned off all my alerts on my phone (the only piece of technology that's not a camera that I'm bringing with me), and I've just booked a cab for 3:30 in the morning to take me to LaGuardia.
